QuestionIm a 21 year old male, about 6'1" and around 200 lbs. I've been trying to lose weight for a while. I've had a gut for as long as i can remember so i dont really know what it feels like to be in shape. I think a healthy weight for me is around 185 so i really want to lose much. honestly i dont really care about numbers, i just want to not have a gut.
Im in college, so im pretty poor haha. I have a job that requires activity (unloading trucks at 5am)about 3-4 days a week. And i exersize at the gym in spurts. like ill miss a week or 2 at atime but then get into it for 5 days or so at a time. i'll do alot of jogging, about 2 miles when i go, and sometimes lift or do calisthenics.
I try to eat healthy but i dont think i always do that good a job. im eating out alot less, But i have a LARGE appetite, and it's hard trying to find food thats good for you on a budget.
a couple specific questions, do nuts help you lose weight? i knwo they hove alot of "good fat" but i dont really know what that means. and do "sugar-free" verisons of drinks help? I drink sugar free redbull and other energy drinks sometimes at work cuz its so early, and its way too hot for coffee.
and can you recommend some foods i can buy/make that are cheap that would help me lose my gut fat?
AnswerNuts are good for you, but they have a LOT of calories, so go easy on them. Yes, definitely switch to DIET soda (sugar free) vs. regular soda. Of course, WATER is the best thing for you. I don't know of any CHEAP foods that are good for you - it seems that all of the best foods to eat cost more... but try to stick to lean protein (chicken, turkey, fish), whole grain carbs, and lots of green veggies. See my web site for specifics.
