QuestionQUESTION: Hi,
I am a female(aged twenty)weighing at 110 kg (last time I checked, four days ago) and I am five foot five.
I have started to go to the gym yesterday, and have planned an hour a day doing various exercises, including cardio with a personal trainer.
I am also dieting by eating small portions and avoiding coke, other unhealthy drinks, and fried foods. I have now started drinking more water in the day as well. Unfortunately, I have stopped exercising after leaving high school, I am currently in second year of online education, and am almost never motivated to leave the house.
I have a goal of losing about fifty kg by June. What advice can you give me, and do I need to spend more time in the gym? (I intend to do that one hour per day for five days)
Regards,
ANSWER: You answered your own question... you need to get some exercise. Diet alone isn't usually enough, and it's certainly not healthy.

QUESTION: Thank you for your answer, I really appreciate it.
However, I do have one last question for you:
Is what I am doing enough? What I mean is, is the five hours a week plus the diet enough to get me where I want to be (110 pounds/50 kg lighter) by June? Or do I need to do some more exercises at home before my workouts?
Also, my trainer uses only the 1/2 kg weights... do I need some for my own home, or can I go without them?
I'd like to thank you again for the time and effort you take out of your busy schedule, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards,
AnswerFive hours a week should be enough - if your intensity level is high. Remember, you can work out for 20 minutes by walking or sprinting... and you're going to burn a lot more calories sprinting.
HEALTHY weight loss is about a pound a week, so you should be able to lose 30 to 40 pounds SAFELY by next June.
