QuestionRichard
Somet stuff I have found online says it doesnt matter when you eat-its how much you eat that day.
Others say dont eat after supper and especially before bed as your metabolism slows in the evening and the food you eat before bed will get stored as fat.
What do you think?
I my case I work evenings. When I come home at 1am it tough not to snack. I have found that on the few occasions when I didnt snack, I woke up feeling a bit thinner-at least my belly was.
Thanks for your thoughts!
AnswerThe number one most important thing is the total number of calories you eat vs. the total number of calories you burn. That's 95% of weight loss. EVERYTHING ELSE you hear is the 5%... the little "tweaks" you can use if you've been dieting for a while and get stuck on a plateau.
I wouldn't worry too much about eating before bed. You've got to eat, and if that's the only time you have, then do it. Snacking can be a killer though. I try to eat yogurt before bed if I need a snack. Those little 100 calorie sugar-free yogurt packs work great for me.
Since your body uses CARBS for fuel, I try to also minimize my carb intake late in the day... so no bread or pasta or pizza right before bed.
Other than that, just watch your calories, get some exercise, and eat healthy foods.
