QUESTION: Sir, am a 27 year old male. I weigh about 70 kgs and my height is 5'9". I do like to workout regularly with the weights that I have in my house. They are quite light weights and I dont possess a home gym. I have 2 fried eggs alongwith brown bread everyday for breakfast. I wanted to know if the yolk should be discarded while consuming the egg or not as many people say that it contains a high level of fat. I also consume a lot of butter while having bread. Am not into body building but I just want to look good and fit. Is my diet heading in the right direction or am I making a mess of it. Please advise me as to what I should/shouldn't eat for breakfast,lunch and dinner to maintain a healthy bod.

The yolk does contain fat and cholesterol. It's also a source of vitamin A.
Eating a lot of butter in addition to fried eggs every day sounds like a diet high in fat. Of course it also depends what you eat the rest of the day.

QUESTION: So if I do have fried eggs everyday with bread, do I have the bread without butter as the yolk itself has a high fat content? Also, I have rice everyday for my lunch. How shall I go about it?

Answer
The fat intake can be cut in several ways:
1. Use only one yolk and throw the other one away
2. Use spray (like PAM) instead of pure butter to fry the eggs in
3. use less butter on your bread or a lower-fat version

Rice doesn't have fat in it so you don't need to change anything there!
