QuestionHi I'm Caitlin and I'm 11. I really don't care what I look like, but recently I'm being humiliated by me being a bit overweight. My brothers tease me about it. I tell my parents and they just say "Oh, Ignore it." Well I can put up with that, that's not the point. The point is, I'm 4'8 ft and I'm 6 and a half stone, almost 7. And I used to be 5 a couple of months ago.
I am overweight. I don't look it much in the head, I just got chubby cheeks and when I jerk my head backwards, there's alot of flab. In the body I do have a little bit of weight, but not that much. It mostly occurs in my arms and my legs. It's completely humiliating. I don't think I'm gorgeous, but I'm not ugly, I would be prettier if it weren't for my fat.
It's not because I feel like I look fat, but it's because I don't want to have an unhealthy life style. I don't know what caused the sudden weight gain, I'm perfectly happy in life and have no problems whatsoever, so It's certainly not stress. I want to burn it all off. However, the thing is I don't like any vegetables. I love fruit though, but I usually only have 2 - 3 a day. Here is the usual things I have in life :
Morning : Chocolate Squares
Dinner : Bacon butty, fruit, orange juice.
Tea: (Not very healthy stuff) It's like Burgers,Hotdogs,Casserole ect.
I try to eat healthy things, but if I don't like it I can't swallow it. I can't even drink water! It's not the taste, for some reason if I don't like the taste of something I gag it back up.
Also I go horse riding on Saturdays and on school days, if it's sunny I usually run around *and, am suprisingly the fastest runner in my class :3*
It's very strange because I'm very good at sports like swimming, because I can go 50 lengths without stopping, but somehow I just cant seem to get rid of those calories.
I tried going on the wii fit, but I have no batteries for my wii board.
How can I improve my diet?
(PS. When I was 7/8, I was 4 stone. I am now almost 7 stone.)
AnswerCaitlyn, I think you already know how to improve your diet, you mention that you are eating "not very healthy" stuff and the things you know to be healthy, "you can't swallow them."
I suggest you write down all your goals and then write down how to achieve those goals. Everyday when you wake up, make the decision to do something to achieve your goals, whether it is buying batteries for your wii board, or going for a 30 minute walk. You have to make the decision and you have to do the work; no one can do it for you. A healthy diet is one that contains food from all the food groups, dairy, fruit, vegetables, whole grains, healthy meats, chicken, fish, and healthy oils. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer, Slimkids.com
