QuestionQUESTION: Can drinking too much caffeine cause twitching in your lower abdomen? Can it cause bloating?
ANSWER:
Thank you for writing in. Excessive intake of caffeine can cause stomach irritation and nausea. This may be part of the issues you are feeling. Where are you getting it from, coffee, soft drinks, etc? Is this a new symptom or does it regularly occur? Why I won't try to diagnose, those are things to consider.
Everyone responds in different ways to caffeine and tolerances vary.
You may want to cut out or reduce your caffeine intake for a day or two and see how you feel. Keep in mind though that if you are used to consuming a large amount of caffeine that this could cause other side effects since caffeine is in reality a drug.

QUESTION: The abdominal twitching is new, ive been having it for a few weeks now. i have nausea, but ive had that for 2 years and it happens in the morning so i don't eat breakfast. and ive had a few headaches. i do drink coffee often and a soda everyday. Ive never really had these problems before except for the nausea.
AnswerToo much caffeine can cause jitters, increased heart rate, and nausea if you have way too much.
As far as the other issues though I'd suggest you talk to a physician about those. It is important to get stuff like that checked out, especially if it is causing you to skip meals.
It would be irresponsible of me to try to diagnose the symptoms you're experiencing.
the only thing i can suggest is that you try to limit your intake of sugary drinks as they can lead to weight gain and a host of other undesired problems. Moderation is fine, just try to watch how much sugar you drink.
