I have IBS, and incidentally it is triggered by most veggies and some fruits. I've only had it a year and I am still discovering my triggers, but I'm having a real issue with what veggies I can eat. We're supposed to eat so many of them a day and with such a very limited selection of options out there (that I can tolerate) it's hard to get as many in me as they recommend (and getting boring and inconvenient always having to eat the same ones over and over - making variety for my kids but keeping my own diet the same....annoying). What is worse is that I am very picky about my veggies and many of them even prior to this developing make me gag or outright vomit due to my disdain of their taste/texture, which limits what I can eat further still. I can eat beans, for example, but how can I work beans into a mid-day snack, evening snack or even a normal lunch? Certainly not as easy as someone can work in carrots or lettuce, lol.
My overall wonder is : is there any way to get the nutrition I need without consuming as many vegetables? any ideas for me at all? this really sucks....
veg that affect me that I know about are:
broccoli, cauliflower, turnip, lettuce, cabbage, leafy greens, carrots, sometimes tomato, celery
veg that I can eat and tolerate are basically just corn, and green beans, peppers and onion and garlic and once in a blue moon I can handle peas without throwing up
veg that makes me gag or worse:
peas, asparagus, kohlrabi, beats, leeks, those green ones that everyone puts in lasagna, basically most others that I haven't already mentioned.
I really don't know what to do with the small list of veggies I ahve. it was hard ENOUGH getting the right amount in me before I got IBS but now it's nearly impossible. help!

I'm sorry to hear you're having such a hard time with getting enough fruits and veggies in every day.
I would recommend looking into a fruit and veggie juice powder supplement. Basically, the fruits and veggies are juiced and dehydrated, removing the water and most of the sugar/fiber.
