No-Stick Cooking Spray

Question
In your opinion, is using no-stick cooking spray on popcorn and other foods healthy?

Thanks in advance.

Answer
They are aerosol, which are potentially harmful. Further, some chemicals are added to allow them to be delivered in the way they are delivered. As far as using them on different pots, they are not good to use on non-stick pots and pans as they degrade the coating. That should tell you something. The final jury is still out on that matter, though.

Here are easy, inexpensive alternatives, if it is truly a concern for you:

1. An oil mister purchased anywhere. You fill it with your favorite cooking oil and it mists a healthy oil on the pots and pans to do the same thing.
2. Parchment paper placed in the bottom of oven pans.
