Questionhi i am 17yrs old. its summer vacation just like the others said and im looking for the best way to lose weight and tips to help the process go faster. im 6'4 245 bls, im bout 50 over and thats partially my goal. i wanted to at least get to 220 b4 school starts back up at the end of august. i work a lot so im not a home all the time to eat and stuff. i work at a grocery store bout 6 hours. i get up bout 11am or so and go to bed about 12,1 or 2 am. i dont eat junk food and have definitely been staying away from soda, i drink water and tea a lot. part of my family is large, the other part is normal. hmmm, i never eat breakfast just b/c im not hungy then so i usually eat maybe twice a day about 1 or 2 then about 7 at night. so what would u suggest i do, and thanks so much for your time to read all of this and help me. First, getting up at 11 is WAY too late. It slows your metabolism and interferes weith your proper hormonal function of metabolism and burning fat. You MUST, MUST, MUST get up earlier. At first it will be hard, but after a week or two of getting up no later than 7 am you will feel much better nad will be more energetic.
Staying away from junk food and soda is a very important part of losing weight and you seem to do it right. Good for you.
Once you start getting up early and not eating too late at night, you WILL be hungry in the morning. Just try and see.
Your genetics don't help but they can be beaten with proper, regular exercise! I know you don't have a lot of time for exericse, but you DON'T NEED A LOT OF TIME. Short but intense cardio sets combined with resistance training where you push your muscles and your heart rate to the its maximum capacity (learn more about resistence training and interval cardio training on the internet) will jump start your metabolism and will make you start losing weight.
Eating twice a day is BAD. It has been scientifically proven that small meals throughout the day, every three hours are much better ot maintain high metabolism and lose weight so ... if you are at work, pack small healthy meals that you can use during the hours that you work (2 meals will do).
Stay away from white bread and use whole bread without sugar or any other sweetener as much as possible.
Losing 25 pounds in two months as you plan is a bit unrealistic but ... if you start working hard today and commit to discipline and your goal, eventually you will lose much more and will gain lean, good looking muscle mass.
