QuestionHi
My biggest problem is I am a short guy with a big belly.
I try to eat healthy and keep my calories low,and I exercise and keep active.
A friend says I have a 'lazy stomach'.
He says its because I lay on the couch all night after supper.
Sure I do but I work hard as well as do workout at home before I go to work so I think I deserve it!
What if I were to work out after supper?
AnswerBarry, simply put, body fat can only get there one way--more calories in than expended--however, the predisposition to holding weight in your stomach has a lot to do w/ genetics--so you may not get it exactly as you wish, but you can always improve.
Define "eat healthy", sometimes we really kid ourselves if we aren't reading labels, being really picky at restaurants and eating a LOT of raw fresh fruits and veggies!
Define how low calories are. Too little ruins the metabolism and packs weight on as much as too many calories!
What kind of exercise and how often and what duration?
In short without knowing all the answers; for a man a lean diet of 2000 calories with a good work out regime; 1 hour of cardio 4 times a week, weight lifting a few times a week and having an active lifestyle--meaning it is "lazy" to sit on the couch and watch hours of television when you could be playing on a softball team, doing a pick up ice hockey game, basketball down at the local Y, riding bikes.
Life is what you make of it and you make yours a sedentary life, you are not going to have the body of an athlete. If you make your life an athletic one there won't be room for "lazy" in your life or your stomach!
In my book, The Vice Busting Diet, I state that the 3 biggest diet vices affecting the Obesity Pandemic are Soft Drinks, Fast Food and Television.
You have one of those vices!
Makes sense doesn't it!?
Carpe Diet!
