QuestionI am fifteen, Im 5'2 and weigh 207 pounds.
I know to be healthy and in my weight range i should lose about 100 pounds.
It's about time for me to go back to High School this year and Im doing the "shop for school clothes" thing.
My Dad's is being surprisingly kind this year and taking me to the mall to pick out some stuff.
Im really depressed right now because the mall has shops like Wet seal and Hot Topic that i really would like to buy things from although Im too overweight to wear the bottoms.
Both stores only offer around size 15 bottoms.
I have wide hips anyways due to being native american/hispanic
Im slim from the top up but my hips acquired most of my weight.
It's bumming me out because Im not consistent enough to lose weight.
For a week or so I'll be going strong with eating well and exercising then out of nowhere I'll go bananas and eat like a mad lady.
I have an online boyfriend, whom i never intended on hooking up with but we've been together for 2 years now.
He isn't aware of my weight though.
He still thinks Im 103... My normal weight when i was like 11.
I dont want him to see me like this and more importantly its not healthy for me.
Im clueless and at my wits end right now with my weight.
It's making me hate myself, when normally I have confidence and love myself.
I am fed up. I am willing to commit as well.
I've already got Gods support with me, i know it.
Im not Christian or any other religion, but believing in God helps me not go insane over my weight.
Please if any advice for me could be given...
I'd appreciate every piece of it.
AnswerHi Isa,
I can relate. I was 207 pounds at 5'1" when I was 17. And I'm Italian, which is close to being Hispanic.
Isa, I lost 75 pounds doing exactly what I wrote in my book, and I kept it off for 25 years. You can do the same. Just talk with your parents and get approval from your pediatrician.
Listen: you can do this. You just need a road map.
It seems I've had your same question from two other teenage girls, so I'm going to refer you to the answers I gave them. The two topics I write in are "Living with obesity" and "special diets." If you look in those categories you will see my answers to the other girls. Their answers are the same as yours.
Keep me posted as to how you're doing.
