QuestionHi my name is Jesse and I am a 16 year old Hispanic female. I'm very insecure about my weight and really scared I will develop health problems since I'm over weight. This has really affected my lifestyle, I only eat once a day usually just creme of wheat. I rarely eat meat of carbohydrates. I'm 5'3 and weigh 157, my mom keeps telling me the reason the scale looks so high is because my "boobs" are so big (I wear size F). My BMI is 28.0 I should be max 24.9. So my question is am I really obese and am I more likely to get diseases? Please help I'm really worried!
AnswerDear Jesse
Please read this article: http://www.ditch-diets-live-light.com/obesity-research.html along with http://www.ditch-diets-live-light.com/neuropeptides.html
The first one gives a slightly different take on the whole obesity and health issue and the second one basically explains what happens when you stress about your weight. My person opinion (which I do understand is not supported by the mainstream media) is that the more stressed you are about your weight - the more likely you are to develop health problems.
Your BMI does not fall into the obese range.
Kind regards Cari
