QuestionHi,
i have for the last two years been walking for 30 minutes a day and avoiding any junk foods. But am not losing weight, I still have a huge tummy.
During the walking exercise, I usually do it in a stadium and would walk fast and non-stop for 30 minutes on a daily basis. Is there anything else I should do.

AnswerFirst of all, congratulate yourself for walking on a regular basis. You are doing your body a favor by being so consistent with this.
There are many aspects to weight management. Body, mind, spirit, emotion, lifestyle. Looking at the body, you want to check with your doctor to see if your thyroid is functioning properly, as well as other metabolic processes that may be out of balance. Also, keep a diary of what you are eating....what you are drinking. You will be able to see if you are consuming things that do not help the process. Then the mind... you want to make sure you are "thinking thin". Saying things to yourself like "I am in the process of letting go of unnecessary weight, and making healthy choices". Spirit and emotions can affect how your body feels, which can affect if your body is going to let go or hang on. Emotions can affect how the body processes. Lifestyle includes more than just walking. Do you smoke? or drink alcohol? or drink milkshakes? There are so many unknown variables of the whole picture. Sometimes resistance exercises and adding some weights can be a plus. There is so much access to Personal Trainers at the gym. They can guide you with a wholistic approach. Reading my books can assist you with the mindful approach they offer. (www.nogainnopainbook.com)There is a bigger picture to look at than just the walking. But know that healthy choices leads to healthy results. You are on the right track. Just keep researching and learning. Good luck to you!
