hi. I'm female and 22 years old and extremely obese.

In August I weighed 289 lbs.

I'm so depressed with life.

I'm sick of being fat!!!!!!!

So I am determined.

I have lost 15 lbs since August.

Maybe that is not a lot to you but it is to me.

I've almost cut sodas out of my diet 100% (I have only had 2 today!!!!) and I have stopped eating fast food.
I want to start working out at a gym. But I am scared to go because I don't want people to make fun of me for being fat.

I want to be a normal weight. my goal is to lose 100 lbs by this time next year. Then I will be at about 200 lbs. do you think that is possible?

Absolutely!  

Congratulations on your success!  15 pounds is alot!  Now you know you can do it!

As you know, there are two important parts to losing weight- proper nutrition and exercise.  Here are my tips:

Nutrition:  Find a plan that you can follow.  In general, eat more whole foods and less processed foods.  Try to eat 5-6 small meals every 3 hours.  I try to eat 300 calories every 3 hours.  Each meal should have a protein (egg, lowfat dairy, chicken, fish, lean beef, or lean pork) and a quality carbohydrate (fruit, whole grain bread, whole grain pasta etc).  I try to limit my sugars too.  I use Daily Plate from livestrong.com to log my food.  (free) Helps to set calorie goals based on your height, weight, activity level, and pounds you want to lose per week.  Truly a great way to know what you can eat and how fast you can expect the weight to come off.  

Exercise:  Find something you love to do.  For me it is TurboJam and TurboKick (kickboxing at home videos) and running (who knew?)  It may also be walking, group classes at the gym, at home videos.  Do not be afraid to go to a gym- people who go there are there for the same reason you are- to get healthy!  If you are too shy to go though, there are tons of great videos to do at home.  The Jillian Michaels ones are great.  You can check them out from your library and see what ones work best for you and keep you motivated.  If you are interested in TurboJam (Oprah has it on her list of favorite things this month!)- super fun- I don't feel like I'm working out!  You can only get that one online- here is how: www.teambeachbody.com/angie212 then shop then turbojam!
