QuestionGaah.
I don't understand how fat works.
I'm 23/female. All my life I've been overweight/obese.
I went to the dr in September 2010 and I weighed 289. I was so ashamed.
So in November 2010 I finally got a gym membership and began going 4 days a week.
As of today, I can comfortably fit in a size 16 pants. Whereas this time last year I was wearing a size 22.
I'm still wearing a size 18/20 shirt.
But I still weigh 281 lbs.
I don't understand how that works. Why am I not losing any numbers off the scale? But I'm losing pant sizes? But I still have fat on my body? Aagghh!!
I'm happy that I'm a size 16, but I still look ugly and flabby!!! :(
how is that possible??
AnswerHello,
Congratulations on your success thus far!
As you know, exercise and good nutrition choices combine to equal weight loss and fat loss.
If you are not losing numbers off the scale, you are replacing fat with muscle through your exercise. This is excellent! If you want to also include more weight loss, you must also make clean food choices.
If you join livestrong.com (free) and put your weight in to My Plate, you can log your food choices and get a calorie goal for your weight loss. It is an excellent tool!
I also love the home workout programs from Beach body for fast weight loss results. I lost 40 pounds from TurboJam. I have also done Insanity and TurboFire. All excellent. You can check them out at www.teambeachbody.com/angie212.
Good Luck!
