I am 5'7 weigh from 220 to 240 it fluctuates i am diabetic Dr says its weight associated. And have been fighting my weight my whole life am i eligible for the surgery i am wanting it badly

There are typically two requirements. One requirement is the one applied by your health insurance. Your insurance has several qualifiers to determine if you qualify for insurance coverage for the surgery and any programs pre and post-op. The second requirement is applied by your doctor/surgeon. Your doctor will decide if your body fat percentage is over the minimum that he has set for doing the surgery.  Many doctors that perform gastric bypass surgery have staff that will be able to tell you if your circumstances qualify for both the insurance and doctor requirements.  I suggest that you make an appointment with a weight loss surgeon that meets your needs and make an adapt with them to determine if you are a qualified candidate.
