QuestionHi
My husband is 48.
He is very active, takes walks and bikes daily, and is carefull what he eats.
His waist size however keeps increasing. He is 5'8".230 lbs.,waist 40".
The rest of him looks OK.
I have seen a few other men like this, including his brother.
Is it a common condition of aging in males,or is something wrong?
AnswerSusan,
As we all get older things change and shift. If your husband is making good food choices and exercising then things should be normal. When is the last time he had a full physical? If it has been some time, I would suggest to have one just to make sure. As we get older our bodies slow down and we do not require as many calories as before. There is also a genic factor involved. What did his father look like at this age? Brothers? Sometimes we follow our family pattern in aging and weight. I hope that this helps.
