AnswerHi Brad:
I'm going to assume you had a sleeve gastrectomy... although if you had a sleeve bypass, which is more commonly known as a duodenal switch, this would apply too. :) If you're having trouble keeping food down, you need to call your surgeon. They'll probably want to do an endoscopy (stick a tube with a camera down your throat) to see what's going on. Sometimes there's some narrowing...and the simple act of performing the endoscopy resolves it.
In the meantime, you need to get your protein it any which way you can. So, eat foods that work for you that you can keep down...even if you're stuck with protein drinks, soup, etc. until you can see your doctor. Be sure you're not letting yourself get dehydrated by not drinking enough. Ideally, your urine should be pale yellow. If it starts to get dark in color, that's a sign of dehydration. You may need to go to the ER to get rehydrated.
You're also mentioning that you have liver cirrhosis. It can be caused by NASH (nonalcoholic steatohepatitis)... or could have other causes. I'm assuming your doctor gave you some advice, such as avoiding all alcohol and anything else that might stress your liver. You need to talk to your surgeon or Internist to understand your cirrhosis--which is serious. They may want to refer you to a hepatologist (liver specialist).
Good luck :) It's not normal to be stuck with soft foods at three months out--so definitely check with your surgeon.
