Question4 weeks made me THAT THIS CIRUJIA but almost can not eat everything is ME returns and I am nauseated And frightens me and because it hurts me and immediately I feel bad I would like to know when I recommend that Tom can do to improve OR WITH THESE Inconvenience
AnswerHi Sandra:
So, you had your sleeve four weeks ago and are having a lot of nausea? Are you also feeling pressure in your esophagus when you eat? If so, you're actually very normal.
Some things that may help:
1) Are you on a proton-pump inhibitor? Some Brand names include Nexium, Prilosec, and Prevacid. If not, talk to your doctor about prescribing one for you for at least the first 4-6 months.
2) Be extra sure that you are not drinking while you are eating. That is often the cause of the pressure feeling. As you're only four weeks out, you need to be extra careful about getting in your water... as dehydration is common. Just stop drinking 30-60 minutes before you eat, and do not drink until 30-60 minutes after eating. It can really make a big difference.
3) Talk to your doctor about prescribing a nausea medication. Some people do experience increased nausea the first few months after surgery.
4) Slow down with your eating. Stop when you get that first twinge of fullness.
Four weeks is still pretty newly post-op. You should feel better in a few weeks. Your tolerance for different foods will change as time goes on as well.
Good luck! Hope this helps.
