QuestionI have researched this procedure but cannot find out in great detail but I am having difficulty finding the specific information on post op care, diet, restrictions. I am an Emergency Nurse and cannot take off work but for a 6 day leave to have the surgery and will be expected to go back to work. I will need to physically able to perform my job tasks. Will lifting need to be restricted? How Long? I have no other health issues except obesity so I can only hope there are no post op complications. Please help so that I can plan for the necessary precautions.
thank you in advance
Diana
AnswerDiana,
The best person to answer your diet and restriction questions is your surgeon, so I really must direct you to him/her for your specific dates.
I think I am safe to say that it is a long shot for you to be back at work as an ER nurse only 6 days after the procedure. Aside from the question of whether your surgeon "permits" you to go back to work, I think there must be significant doubt about whether you will "feel" up to work.
This is probably not the answer you were seeking, but I hope it is helpful.
