eating slower and wieght loss

Question
Hello. I had gastric bypass in july of last year. I am worried that at this point there will be no more wieght loss or malabsorbtion available. Also someone told me to wait 3 minutes between bites to feel full. Is this right?

Answer
The first 1.5-2 years are considered your "window of opportunity" for weight loss. Keep watching
your portions, eat protein first and keep playing by the "rules" given to you by your surgeon/team and you should continue to lose. Add exercise to the fix even better.

Whether you've had WLS or not, slowing down when eating is always important. Eliminating distractions (not watching tv/reading) is also a good way to be "mindful" when you eat.

It takes around 20 minutes before the brain/stomach make the connection and feel full so slowing down certainly is not a bad thing :) It's the difference between eating your food and "inhaling" your food :)
