Frank C will tell you himself that he is used to be a fat man. In a world where people are ashamed to attach the title of “fat” to their persona, Frank has embraced it to motivate others and has even used it to promote a campaign that says, “death to the yo-yo life.”
“I have struggled with weight my whole life. In fact, yo-yo dieting has been such a big part of my life that it seems weird to have something that finally works for me.”
Frank’s family history is just like many other people in this world who struggle with weight. His family history is typical of those struggling to diet, as many of his family members suffer from health conditions like diabetes and heart problems.
As a kid growing up, Frank considered himself to be a “chubby kid.” At 14, he was 4 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighed 140 pounds. When he hit a growth spurt at 16, Frank gained more confidence because the chubbiness seemed to disappear, and the girls took notice.
At 17, he met his future wife, and felt better than ever. At 18, he moved in with his wife, and had his first son, Isaiah, when he was 19.
In 2000, both of Frank's grandparents passed away due to massive heart attacks caused by their diabetic condition.
With the stress of raising his first child, and with the sudden loss of his grandparents, Frank began putting on weight and slowly creeped up to 250 pounds.
“At this time, I stood 5 feet 11 inches tall and most of my fat was stored in my lower body. Let’s just say I held my weight well.”
Frank got motivation to start losing weight when he stepped on the scale at Christmas and noticed he weighed a staggering 298 pounds. Determined to get away from his unhealthy eating habits, Frank did some research and lost 70 pounds just in time for his sister’s wedding later that year.
Frank became a hot topic among his friends and family because most of them were wondering how he was able to lose all the weight.
After maintaining his new image for a brief period of time, Frank first became a victim of yo-yo dieting when he gained all of his weight back shortly after his sister’s wedding. A few months later, he lost weight, but gained it back, and shortly after that he lost the weight again, then gained it all back.
The crash in the housing market that same year didn’t seem to help Frank’s situation. With another baby on the way, and with a house in foreclosure, Frank became depressed and started eating more.
“During this time, I fell into a very deep depression and started punishing myself by eating more and more.”
When Frank reluctantly stepped on his scale in Christmas of 2007, he weighed 296 pounds. He set a goal to lose 150 pounds, and by March of 2009, he was down 85 pounds. During this time, Frank turned to blogging and he and his business partner began developing a site called, “Fat Man Unleashed” with a goal to provide an online community where people could share their struggles with weight loss, and where they could become advocated for obesity awareness.
Frank never even thought of meal delivery when it came to weight loss, especially since he had so many bad experiences with dieting before.
After going through the vicious cycle of living the life of a yo-yo, Frank found a meal delivery diet that could help him achieve his goals of maintaining weight loss.
“When you don’t know about the proper ways to lose weight, you can get discouraged and lose motivation. Especially if you have struggled with weight your entire life,” says Frank.
Determined not to let frustration get the better of him, Frank decided to try the delivery diet provided by bistroMD.
“BistroMD has helped me achieve my dreams because I needed my own chef in my house. With a full-time job, and my wife working full-time and raising our kids, neither one of us really have time to cook for ourselves. With bistroMD, it’s like I have my own personal chef, and I get free support from a dietitian. I have all the confidence I need to succeed. I don’t have to worry about cooking, or what I’m going to eat anymore.”
Since becoming a part of the bistroMD family, Frank has said goodbye to the yo-yo diet forever, and he has been able to maintain successful weight loss.
With the help of a special meal delivery diet, this fat man has definitely been unleashed from his burden of yo-yo dieting.
