Cara’s Weight Loss Story!
When did you become unhappy with your weight?
This was my third pregnancy. So, I anticipated the weight loss regime but what I didn’t expect was how much harder it was going to be! Everyone told me on the third baby, you will never get back in shape and it will take so much longer. Even my doctor said that! I was starting to get scared they were right. I started to try to lose weight about a month after my son was born.
What made you decide to lose weight?
My commitment to myself. I have always wanted to be a good role model for my children and in order to teach, you must first demonstrate!
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
My first change was meal portions. I cut down what I was eating and ate more frequent and smaller meals. The second thing was committing to working out 3 days a week!
What was most challenging about losing weight?
I tried a few new diets on the market (South Beach, etc.) but I put the weight back on almost immediately after I finished the diet. So, I hired a personal trainer to help me with the ups and downs and to help me stay focused. Consistency is still the most difficult part of the process.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
6 weeks for a noticeable improvement. I felt hopeful for the first time after all the negative comments, and I knew this could work!
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
5 months.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I am maintaining and I’m beginning a new program to lose the last 10 pounds.
How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
I decided to take a personal training course and take control of my life! I have great clients and positive friends. The truth is I love what I have become and I will never stop trying to help others.

Cara’s Weight Loss Eating Plan!
Breakfast:
1 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup of blueberries. I also have a snack at 10:00am (apple).
Lunch:
6 ounces of ground extra lean turkey breast, with onions, peppers and low-fat feta cheese, with 1/2 cup of rice and 2 cups of salad.
Dinner:
Protein shake, orange roughy, 2 cups of broccoli.
Snacks or Mini Meals:
Egg whites, mushrooms.
Cara’s Weight Loss Workouts!
Weight Training:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday – interval training with supersets and cardio built-in for 1 hour.
Cardiovascular:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday – lunges, dips, river dance, squats, run stairs, push-ups, burpees, tuck jumps.
