Joe’s Weight Loss Story!
When did you become unhappy with your weight?
When I broke that last chair!
What made you decide to lose weight?
I realized how unhealthy I was through some friends.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
An eating routine.
What was most challenging about losing weight?
Fast food. I quit cold turkey!
How long did it take you to start to see results?
I lost 8 pounds the 1st week and then 6 pounds and another 6 pounds. The next thing you know, 3 months went by and I needed new clothes. I went from 408 pounds in January 2007 to 335 pounds by April 2007.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
17 months so far.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I haven’t looked back in 17 months. I still have a weekend where I go out of town, drink like a fish and eat fast food and maybe put on 10 pounds but its gone in a week when I go back to 2000 calories. Lots of tuna and chicken and ham and cheese sandwiches on fiber wheat bread.
How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
People don’t ignore you.

Joe’s Weight Loss Eating Plan!
Breakfast:
Either a Fiber One bar (150 calories) or two packets of oatmeal (apple, brown sugar) which are 120 calories a pack. 8 to 16 oz of 1% milk. I try for 300 to 500 calories for breakfast.
Lunch:
I usually grill 12 ounces of chicken breast or eat two cans of tuna. I eat a bag of onions and peppers (125 calories for 16 ounces) or a can of green beans with the tuna.
Dinner:
I usually eat a can of chunky firehouse chili. Its 460 calories for the can and has 30 grams of protein and 16 grams of fiber.
Snacks or Mini Meals:
Two ham and cheese sandwiches on fiber wheat bread. This has 4 slices of bread (5 grams of fiber each). 70 calories of ham on each and a slice of cheese 60 calories (pepper jack). The bread is 50 calories a slice and is made by Natures Own. So 480 calories for the sandwiches. NO MAYO! Yellow mustard has about 5 calories per serving.
Joe’s Weight Loss Workouts!
Weight Training:
I bench press twice a week. I curl with 25 pound dumbbells twice a week and do shoulder presses with the dumbbells.
Cardiovascular:
I know its sad and at the same time crazy that I have lost 158 pounds so far. But I have done ZERO cardio and my cholesterol is 120!
