Renee’s Weight Loss Story!
When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I have been unhappy with my weight since I hit puberty. I have been overweight since I was 11 years old. I kept getting bigger and bigger. By 11th grade I weighed 196 pounds. I went on a diet and got down to 155 pounds but I gained it all back when I went away to college. By age 21, I was 225-230 pounds!
What made you decide to lose weight?
The day after my 21st birthday I uploaded the pictures to my computer and didn’t even think that was me. I couldn’t believe how big I was.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
I snacked on fruits instead of chips or junk food and I think that was the most important changes, because I learned how to snack the smart way.
What was most challenging about losing weight?
Some weeks there would be no change on the scale and I would feel like a failure. The hardest part was staying on track after mornings like that.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
People started asking me if I was losing weight after about a month. I saw a change on the scale after the first week.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
I started my diet July 2006 and reached my current weight in July 2007.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I have maintained my weight for 6 months. I have managed to do this by tracking the food I intake.
How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
I am happier and have much more self-confidence. I didn’t have many friends before and had never dated. Once I built self-confidence I was able to talk to more people, make many new friends, and I am not afraid to date.

Looking at the before and after pictures of the helped me stay motivated and the stories helped me stay on track.

Weight loss tip #1:
Snack on fruit, its sweet and satisfying.
Weight loss tip #2:
Drink water. Everyone says that but its true.
Weight loss tip #3:
Track your food. You don’t realize how bad your eating until you track.
Weight loss tip #4:
Don’t rely on the scale. It doesn’t show all the changes.

DON’T give up!!
Renee’s Weight Loss Eating Plan!
Breakfast:
Fruit, usually apples and oatmeal.
Lunch:
I would normally have a veggie burger and some mixed vegetables.
Dinner:
I worked a lot during evening hours so my dinners were never consistent. I usually enjoyed a six inch sub from Subway and some fruit.
Snacks or Mini Meals:
Raisins and grapes were my favorite. I also snacked a lot on rice cakes.
Renee’s Weight Loss Workouts!
Weight Training:
I have not started weight training yet.
Cardiovascular:
I would walk a lot for relaxation and exercise a few times a week. I would do 20 minutes of jogging and 20 minutes on the elliptical.
