When did you become unhappy with your weight?
July 22, 2009.
What made you decide to lose weight?
I just had enough. I wanted to be healthy for my family.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
Cut out soda totally and started exercising. I haven’t had soda in over 2 years.
What was most challenging about losing weight?
Just staying consistent. I wanted to break the plateau.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
I lost 8 pounds in the first week after cutting out sugary sodas. For me to see results, it took around 5 months.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
2 years and 5 months. My goal weight is 175 pounds.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
Over 2 years. Setting goals and pressing on towards them and never giving up are the keys to my success. Having great support and finding an accountability partner or group are also very important.
How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
I’m more confident, more outgoing, I have a better family life and I’m just glad that I won’t die by 40 now.
