When did you become unhappy with your weight?
When I was pushing a size 30 at Lane Bryant and when my toddler asked me to play with him and I was too exhausted to even do that.
What made you decide to lose weight?
I had no other choice. I would only be able to wear Moo Moos.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
My attitude. I used to make losing weight such a chore and a drag. Once I learned to make it fun, my whole life changed.
What was most challenging about losing weight?
Filtering out people’s opinions.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
3 months.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
15 months.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I’m still losing.
What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success?
My new confidence.
How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
I feel better in my own skin. My life experiences have changed. I can walk into a store and not feel embarrassed that the staff might be saying things like “she can’t shop here, she’s too big”. I no longer have to wear shorts and a big t-shirt to the swimming pool.
Do you have any advice for others who are trying to lose weight?
Have fun! Losing weight isn’t a chore or a challenge, it’s an opportunity!
