Erika’s Weight Loss Story!
When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I was always unhappy with my weight. It was a constant struggle growing up, especially in high school. I had no confidence in myself and couldn’t make friends easily because of my lack of self-confidence. On February 3, 2009 I woke up and decided that I was tired of being overweight. I felt horrible about myself and I knew it was time for me to change my life around. The path that I was going down wasn’t going to lead me anywhere.
What made you decide to lose weight?
I got tired of being overweight and I was tired of being the big girl.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
Number one, I had to start working out and eating right. I had to cut out all the fatty foods, fast foods, processed foods and candy..
What was most challenging about losing weight?
It wont happen overnight. You have to constantly work at it and you have to be consistent with your workouts and your diet.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
I started seeing result when I had lost about 50 pounds but my peers and friends didn’t see results until I lost about 75 pounds.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
I’m still working on losing weight. It took me about 1 year to lose 100 pounds.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
Its been two years now.
How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
Life has been great! I go out more and I’m confident with who I am. Anything I put my mind to, I can do. I love to inspire others to do the same in whatever they are trying to accomplish.
How did ShapeFit help you reach your weight loss goals?
I would constantly read ShapeFit’s weight loss success stories at work to keep pushing myself. I didn’t have a support system doing this. I did it all on my own, so to have other people who have been through the same thing as me, really kept me going and made me fight every day. Giving up wasn’t an option for me, so I just had to keep going.

Breakfast:
Oatmeal with fruit. Or, egg whites with a banana or some Kashi cereal with almond milk or skim milk.
Lunch:
Turkey sandwich with mustard, veggies and avocado. Or a salad, black beans, chicken, baked talapia, or lean beef.
Dinner:
Egg whites, brown rice, chicken, fish, beef, steamed veggies or a protein shake.
Snacks or Mini Meals:
Yogurt, almonds, fruit, veggies, protein shakes, skim cheese.
Erika’s Weight Loss Workouts!
Weight Training:
Switch it up between upper and lower body.
Cardiovascular:
Tuesday and Saturday I do cycling class. On Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I do different cardio machines like the stair master and elliptical machine. On Sunday, I play soccer.
