Justin’s Weight Loss Story!
When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I’ve been unhappy with my weight all my life. But I decided to change FOR GOOD this time on February 13th 2010, and I made it.
What made you decide to lose weight?
I stepped on the scale on February 13th 2010 and saw 355 pounds! The most I’ve ever been was 342 pounds. I HAD to make a change.
What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?
I cut back on my calories and try to only associate with positive people. I eventually worked out a lot.
What was most challenging about losing weight?
Just sticking to my plan and staying focused. But it was not extremely hard once I got rolling and saw the weight continuously fall off.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
I lost 7 pounds my first week. I could feel physical results after about a month and a half (30 pounds lost) as my clothes started to fit better.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
I lost 157 pounds (from 355 to 198) in 8 months.
How long have you maintained your weight loss and how do you do it?
I reached the 150 pound plateau on October 15th 2010, so I’ve maintained it for 2 weeks, and just continue to lose. I know 2 weeks it not a long time but there is no way I would ever relapse. I have a plan to maintain it by only eating healthy foods like fruits, vegetables and cereal with skim milk. I just try to focus on very healthy and low-fat foods and continue to workout with cardio and weight lifting 3 times a week.
How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?
My family and friends do not recognize me. I can’t even recognize myself! I get a lot more attention from women, feel healthier, have more energy and I don’t breathe as heavy anymore. I also don’t have to shop in the big and tall section and I have more confidence. My life has changed in every way imaginable. I’m literally a new person.

Justin’s Weight Loss Tips!
Weight Loss Tip #1:
Only keep positive people around you that will encourage you and help you stay focused on your goal.
Weight Loss Tip #2:
Alcohol is really bad for weight loss. I used to be a big social drinker but cut it out completely
Weight Loss Tip #3:
Water is great for weight loss. I eventually started to drink only 100% water.
Weight Loss Tip #4:
Keep track of your calories and make sure you are eating less than what you burn per day. Your body will use stored fat for energy so you can lose weight.
Weight Loss Tip #5:
Exercise is great for burning calories and preserving muscle. Do it at a level, frequency and time you are comfortable with and try to do it at least 3 times a week.
Justin’s Weight Loss Eating Plan!
Breakfast:
I normally skip breakfast but only because I stay up late in the AM.
Lunch:
Turkey and cheese sandwich, or Campbell’s soup.
Dinner:
Chicken salad.
Snacks or Mini Meals:
I never eat any snacks. My diet is based on calorie restriction, so I try to only eat meals.
Justin’s Weight Loss Workouts!
Weight Training:
I lift weights 3 times a week by using a variety of equipment at the gym. I also like boxing, bicycle crunches and using a hand gripper.
Cardiovascular:
I use an elliptical machine that I have beside my bed, everyday. It’s really convenient to roll out of bed and hop on it. I burn up to 1,200 calories in one session using it.
