Time magazine recently published an article regarding obesity at a cellular level. They started their discussion with a presentation of society's desire to lose weight. Most are either trying to lose weight or want to lose weight. But it's difficult. In today's society there are many things fighting against the dieter and their attempts to lose weight. When looking at the issue theoretically it seems eating less and exercising more should do the trick.
But taking it beyond theory leaves many floundering. Day to day life is stressful for most. Fast food is far too accessible. And eating out is far too convenient. And for many...high calorie/high fat foods are to comforting. All of these things are working against dieters as they attempt to lose unwanted weight.
Eating less and exercising more should result in loss of weight. But for many...it doesn't work. This is a huge problem in today's society. But experts are suggesting that it might not be a problem at all in the future. Researchers are working towards identifying scientifically the problems behind unnecessary weight gain and obesity by studying it at a cellular level. Studies are looking at fat storage and why different bodies store fat differently. Some store fat almost immediately while others tend to burn more calories than are consumed.
According to studies there are certain specific biological situations at work inside the human body that effect weight. For instance bacteria filling the intestines can either escalate or eliminate weight gain. There is another phenomenon that has been identified as "hyperactive fat" or brown fat. This type of fat is typically found in newborns. But unlike the white fat present around the middle of many adults...this fat actually burns calories.
Experts are hopeful that they will be able to scientifically identify enough biological phenomenon in the human body to solve the problem of obesity on today's society. The practical findings are limitless. Dieters who find themselves asking, "Why me?" will finally have an answer. And it will be scientific.
These aren't the only questions that will be answered. They are just a few of the questions currently being addressed in ongoing studies. Studies are focused around the obese population, fat storage and treatment and society's reaction/treatment of obesity. Practical purposes appear to be many at this early stage in the research. Experts hope that at study conclusion they will be able to provide the practical applications that will drastically reduce the negative affects of obesity on society.
