Obesity is an epidemic in this country these days. It is astounding, you watch the Biggest Loser and you see some behemoth of mammals on that show, and then compare that to the British equivalent Supersize VS Superskinny.
What becomes daftly apparent is that Americans are simply much fatter in general- unless the British programming screens for only moderately fat people to come on to their show. Just by the fact that Americans might refer to them as moderately over weight shows that they are developing a very high tolerance for obesity.
Obesity is actually a rather threatening disorder these days. Some people are so obese that they can't maintain a job, or even leave the house.
This is only the most sever of situations. In a poll done across America most every single person asked said, they would be more comfortable at a different weight.
People over 33 percent body fat have been shown to be at higher risk of diabetes and other coronary diseases, furthermore they also have been shown to have weaker bones and less bone density. So all in all, these people are just all together less healthy.
33 percent body fat is a lot, mind you. It isn't easy to get to that... well...it's not easy for some.
There are some people that have terribly slow metabolism and have, for their entire life, been fed terribly unhealthy foods. These foods not only hurt the body by stuffing them full of indigestible preservatives, they also slow metabolism by lightly poisoning the kidney and liver.
What can you do if you have a terribly unhealthy lifestyle? The answer is exercise.
It only takes two weeks to develop a habit; it takes just three to break one. Knowing this can help you change your life and maybe even add a few good years on to it.
New habits to develop: exercise daily, doesn't have to be the same exercise every day as long as you do exercise every day; proper sleep, be sure to get 8 hours of sleep every night; and diet, eat healthy nutritional foods. Also spend three weeks breaking any bad habits you may have, such as fast foods, cigarettes or whatever it may be.
To burn calories you have to use muscles. This is going to be exceedingly difficult if you are overweight, simply because you are going to have to carry more weight than you have muscle.
Using muscle is the only way to burn calories. Start doing exercises that use more large muscle groups, so that you can increase your weight loss.
Healthy organs have a big role in weight loss too. I am sure you have seen those people who go walking every day and never lose a pound.
The kidneys and the liver are big contributors to metabolism and if they are unhealthy, it is quite likely you may experience weight gain. Keep them clean through proper nutrition.
