Childhood obesity rate is growing like an epidemic across the world. It is mostly dominant in the western countries. Some argue this with the problem related to the genetics while it is mostly because of the irregular lifestyle in the west.
Children can be easily distracted by the innovative junk food advertisements and they fall prone to them to put on some extra weights very easily. So it is not related to medical issue at all. Due to lack of exercise and typical unhealthy western junk food diet the weight and body fat index soars high.
Nowadays junk food are very common in all parts of the world. Many people especially children like these foods and they are not very costly. Due to the good taste, children eat a lot and get dozens of extra calories.
These foods are commonly rich in fats and sugars. Cutting out from these foods and eating fruits and vegetables are a better solution of this problem. You should also eat slowly and reduce the size of the portions which are being taken.
Children today are a good deal less active than other generations were. There are more car journeys made to school for example, where once walking would have been done. Lifts and escalators are now in schools, where stairs would have been normal instead.
Another reason of childhood obesity is the lack of sports organization in schools and children have no opportunity to stay active as earlier they were. The reason is not limited to schools but also in home, now child spend their time in playing computer games rather than play outside in play grounds. The solution is again simple; remain busy in some activities like sports and others.
It cannot be ignored that our body needs calories to produce energy to function properly. But if you store extra calories more than your body actually needs, then those extra calories will lead to a childhood obesity problem. If it is not taken care of in time, this problem is bound to grow large in future.
