“We should be taught not to wait for inspiration to start a
thing. Action always generates inspiration. Inspiration seldom
generates action.” – by Frank Tibolt
This is a very important quote that we carefully selected
because…..let’s face it…..it’s hard to find the motivation
to exercise! It’s easy to just let the workout slide.
But there’s the danger! It’s sooooo tempting to just skip the
workout for today and perhaps wait for inspiration to strike us
at home. Maybe some of these excuses sound familiar: “It’s too
hot right now – I’ll go exercise tonight” or “I just don’t feel
like doing anything today – I’ll work out twice as long
tomorrow”. Of course, the workout doesn’t happen tonight and
tomorrow we find a new reason not to exercise.
Please understand that we’re not ‘pointing the finger’ here!
We’re in the same boat right along with you! It’s hard to find
the willpower to exercise!
But let’s read that quote again: “We should be taught not to
wait for inspiration to start a thing. Action always generates
inspiration. Inspiration seldom generates action.” – by Frank
Tibolt.
How do we find the motivation to exercise today? WE JUST DO IT.
I know that sounds like a Nike commercial, but really, it’s the
truth. Just doing it (exercising) will give us the inspiration
to do it again tomorrow. The action creates the inspiration!
Did you ever find yourself with a lot of housework to do, and
you were absolutely NOT looking forward to it? Yet, once you
started cleaning, you kind of ‘got into it’ and ended up putting
in a lot of time and effort. The house looked GREAT! The action
created the inspiration!
Did you ever have a HUGE project at work that needed to get
done? Chances are, it was a real nightmare of a task. Yet, once
you really started on the project, you ended up working on it
until midnight! Again, the action created the inspiration!
Exercise is the same way. Sometimes we don’t look forward to
working out. Sometimes it’s a chore. Yet, once we start, it
feels so good that we give it 110%!
That’s our secret for exercise. Don’t wait until you feel like
exercising, because you’ll probably NEVER feel like it. JUST DO
IT. The action of working out will create the inspiration you
need to exercise tomorrow……and the day after.
Now, let’s read that quote just more time…..”We should be
taught not to wait for inspiration to start a thing. Action
always generates inspiration. Inspiration seldom generates
action.” – by Frank Tibolt. Let’s go do it!
