This title today has multiple meanings, but I’m only going to focus on two of them (actually, just mainly one of them).
The first meaning (and the one I won’t spend a lot of time on) is the literal meaning of my title.
Basically, stop acting fat and happy just because you can throw down a six-pack of donuts with a 72 ounce carbonated beverage.
That won’t get you anywhere.
Actually, it will get you somewhere, if you enjoy making a trip to your local hospital.
Hey, it’s your call.
The other meaning that I will talk about in depth is the one that stares far too many people in the face on a daily basis.
What is it?
Let me explain…
Someone decides to make a change, eat better, exercise (the right way), focuses on positive thinking phrases to say to oneself.
They’re doing great.
They feel great.
They look great.
Then………………….
They allow themselves a “cheat” day.
“On this day, Chris”, they say to me…
“I can eat and do whatever I want”
What do you think that entails, guys and gals?
Any guesses?
Maybe…………splurging on food and drink.
Multiple times over.
You have to enjoy your cheat day, right?
Wrong.
This is what I’m talking about here.
Don’t get too excited that you allow yourself to binge on food and drink.
Now, am I saying you have to eat broccoli and drink water all day, every day?
Of course not.
You have to find balance (leaning toward the side of healthiness, of course).
Stay with me here.
You need to find the balance between being proud of yourself, and not being TOO proud of yourself.
Are you with me here?
Good.
Remember, as I’ve said many times before, you will be the one who ultimately is responsible for your fitness level.
Not Mom.
Not Dad.
Or sister, brother, spouse, friend, or even your great great uncle.
You get the picture.
Should you be happy you are making progress.
Of course! Not only that, you should be ecstatic!
Making progress is something most people don’t even try to do.
They are quitters.
You, my friend, are not a quitter.
On the other hand, don’t get soooo fired up, that you decide you can “let it all hang out”, and go crazy on the buffet table.
There is absolutely no need for that.
Remember, this is a lifestyle change.
Not a 1 week or 1 month change.
You want this change forever.
You want constant improvement.
You need constant improvement.
This will push you to greater heights, I promise.
It’s about that time……..so, until next time, be proud of your progress, but never, ever stop striving for your goals. Just because you’re part of the way there, doesn’t mean it’s time to throw in the towel……on the contrary, that’s when the real successful people step up and take it one notch further.
Take it one notch further, right now.
