How to Fix a Slippery Yoga Mat

### Sprinkle baking soda on the mat and scrub with a soft brush.

Baking soda is a natural abrasive that can help to remove dirt and oil from the mat. Scrubbing the mat with baking soda will also help to buff out any rough spots that may be causing it to slip.

After scrubbing, rinse the mat thoroughly with cool water and let it air dry.

Using baking soda on the mat can create a baking soda residue. Rinsing the mat with water ensures that no baking soda residue is left on the mat which could make the mat slippery again.

If the mat is still slippery, you can apply a yoga mat grip spray.

Yoga mat grip sprays are specially designed to help prevent the mat from slipping. To use a yoga mat grip spray, simply hold it about 10 cm away from the mat and spray it evenly over the surface. Allow the spray to dry completely before using the mat.

You can also try placing a towel under the mat.

A towel will provide extra friction between the floor and the mat, helping to prevent it from slipping.

If you have a textured yoga mat, you can try flipping it over and using the other side.

The textured side of the mat will provide more grip than the smooth side.
