During the holiday season, we have the tendency to eat more and do less, which is why we're challenging you to this plank workout routine! In honor of Thanksgiving, our team of health & fitness experts have created this "Planksgiving Challenge" that you can do all year long.
Planking is a total body exercise. It's important to remember to keep your core, legs, and glutes engaged all at the same time. In a standard forearm plank, as seen in Exercise #1, pull your belly button in towards your spine and press your heels behind you for proper form. To modify, you may drop down to one or both knees to complete the full routine.
Forget crunches! Attack the abs at every angle with these 5 plank exercises. All you need is a timer and a mat, no gym or equipment needed. This quick workout will help build a strong core, burn calories, and keep you on track with your health and wellness goals.
Accept the challenge! Start with a 5-10 minute warm up and then complete 3 rounds of the entire routine. The Planksgiving Challenge does not end there. The second part of the challenge is to make healthy eating choices. It's important to enjoy this time of year, but to also be mindful of what we're eating and drinking. Let yourself indulge in your favorite holiday foods that you've waited all year for! Just remember to practice portion control and maintain a balanced lifestyle by staying active. Ready, set, go!
