It wasn’t until she went shopping for her 22nd birthday that Ramie Reed felt uncomfortable in her skin.
She bought a scale and the results blew her mind – she weighed 342.
“I didn’t want to go through the whole diabetes thing. That was the reason why my mom started her health journey,” Reed recalled. “I decided to start walking because I knew that was something that I felt like I could handle.”

Today, at 25, Reed is down more than 150 pounds. Through a combination of workout routines with friends, diet changes and now heading her own fitness class, Reed knocked off the weight over the span of 18 months.
However, she still wasn’t satisfied. For starters, she wanted to be “fit thick.” When she got down to her goal of 175, she didn’t like the way it looked on her frame.
