A low carb diet includes food products which have low carbohydrate content in them. Products which have low glycemic index are consumed like spinach, cabbage, barley, rye, wheat kernels, rice (parboiled), yogurt (low fat), etc. There is no one fixed low carb diet, it depends upon your calorie intake level. But mostly all low carb diets exclude starch and sugar. The restriction of food intake forces the body to use the stored fat for physical activities. Atkins diet is also a type of low carb diet which is known for fast weight loss due to a complete cut off of carbohydrates from your diet for first few weeks, they rely on meat products for its daily dose of proteins, vitamins and minerals. Even if Atkins is effective in drastically reducing your weight, it has received much negative feedback and huge opposition from many research institutes and experts as they have proved harmful for your health in the long run.
Along with a balanced diet it is important to take up some regular physical activity to lose fat fast.
