The proteins help building and maintain muscle tissues. The carbohydrates are needed while one exercise and the fat intake maintain the body's minimum level but not get stored.

One should maintain his body muscle. The focus should be losing fat, not muscle. If one continually work his muscles while cutting back on the fat, he automatically burn fat. If the body becomes trained to build muscle, then it will not have extra energy to store as fat. Hence one must develop a workout routine and stick to it with consistency.

People should burn more Calories. When one is working to lose fat, the plan is to burn more calories than he consume. This deficit will cause the body to draw on its storage of fat in turn. Since one will be exercising to maintain muscle at the same time, he will not risk losing muscle mass.

If some one is not one those who can cut back on food then should do cardio. Cardiovascular exercises helps to eat more and still burn fat. One should do cardio for about 30 minutes 3 times a week. One should never eat after a cardio workout because that just destroys the whole purpose of burning the stored fat.
