But are you eating well-balanced meals and working out regularly, yet still not seeing results? A new test may have your answers.
The Body Weight Planner, created by the National Institute of Health, calculates the maximum amount of calories an individual can consume in order to reach the weight they desire. By factoring in specific details like your current weight, height, age, sex, the amount you exercise, and the number you’d like to see on the scale in a certain amount of time, the test can provide you with the correct calorie intake to rid your body of those stubborn extra pounds.
But the calculator isn’t just for those looking to lose weight. If you’ve already reached your goals, the test can also show you the amount of calories you need to consume in order to maintain your figure.
Though it may seem too good to be true to enter your information and receive all the answers you need to get to the weight you desire, there is a science behind it. The Body Weight Planner uses a mathematical model formed by incorporating all of the current research on the ways in which factors like diet, exercise and metabolism affect weight loss.
Once an individual enters all of their information and receives their calorie numbers, they’re given a tools to take action with a plan, linking The Body Weight Planner to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s SuperTracker. This tool allows you to track your progress in achieving weight loss by logging your daily meals, exercise and pounds lost.
