If you only eat eggs on special occasions, like that weekend brunch with your pals, you may want to reconsider. Eggs are AMAZING when weight loss is the goal.
Here is exactly why you should be eating more eggs to lose weight:
1. They’re proven to work. A study from 2008 found that obese participants who ate a breakfast of two eggs lost more weight and saw a greater reduction in waist circumference than those who had a bagel. Both groups were on a calorie reduced diet and both breakfasts contained a similar number of calories.
2. They’re packed with protein. Your breakfast should be full of protein in order to keep you satiated until lunch. Some experts are saying you should be getting as much as 20 grams of protein at breakfast! But before you decide that that is too much food, eggs can help you get there. One egg is about 6 grams of protein so two puts you more than half way there!
3. They are a healthy and convenient choice. Hard boiled eggs are a great snack option when you are feeling a little peckish and need something super easy. One hard boiled egg (78 calories) and an apple (80 calories) make a perfect snack of protein and fiber that will keep you from turning to a sugary, diet derailing snack.
