recently heard from someone who was getting ready to start the medifast diet in a few weeks. She had some questions about what she might expect in the weeks to come. One of the things she wanted to know was if she should expect consistent or constant weight loss every week. Specifically, she asked me, in part: Do you lose weight every week on medifast? Is it pretty much the same amount of weight that you are losing each week? Will my experience vary from one week to the next?" I will address these questions in the following article.
The Consistency Of Medifast Weight Loss: First of all, I have to say that every one is going to be different. If you spend any time on the medifast site reading user blogs or on dieting forums, you'll see a wide range of experiences. But, I can tell you about what I have experienced. My weight loss was pretty consistent in that I experienced it on most weeks. I did have some weeks where I had plateaus and lost very little or nothing at all. But, for the most part, I did consistently take off the pounds.
However, I didn't lose the exact same thing each and every week. This tended to vary somewhat. Usually, if I had a bad week where I was disappointed in the amount of pounds lost, I would usually lose a lot more pounds the next week so that it sort of balanced out to remain close to my average. Sometimes, I could pinpoint why my results were either better or worse than what was typical for me.
For example, one week I didn't lose any weight because I was in a friend's wedding and had to go off the diet for several days because of rehearsals, parties, etc. And, on some weeks, I was able to exercise more and I would usually be rewarded by good results for that week. And, if I was very careful and diligent with my lean and green meals, I usually had pretty consistent and good weight loss for the week.
Of course, there were a few weeks where my results confused or disappointed me. There were weeks when I seemed to be doing everything right but the pounds were just not coming off like they had in the weeks and months before. I've found that it's just best to not over think this and to just continue doing what I knew had worked in the past. Sometimes, there's just no rhyme or reason for what you are seeing on the scale (and this can be both good and bad.) But, usually if you just keep doing what you have been doing and wait it out, you will see much better results in the days to come. In my experience, the worst thing you can do is to get discouraged and give up as giving up pretty much ensures that you are going to stop losing weight.
So, yes, the results on medifast were usually consistent for me. But, the numbers on the scale did vary week to week. However, the trend was almost always down and, over time, this really did make a huge difference. In a relatively short period of time, I had a new wardrobe and body. It's important to just keep following along with your prepackaged meals and your lean and green meal and trusting that, in the end, you will see the results that you want.
