How many times have you looked in the mirror and said that you need to lose some weight. Have you ever asked you husband or boyfriend if you looked fat or needed to lose weight, and he started talking about the children? Losing weight is a very personal decision and one that you really do not want to hear from others that you need to lose weight. Let me give you a fact, others do notice when you are over weight and it does affect how they think of you.
Being fat also affects how you see yourself. My guess is your self esteem stinks. Confidence is an issue as is your health. All of this you know. Being over weight will shorten your life, cause you significant discomfort, limit your mobility, and make you the gossip from even your friends, behind your back. You might be in a pathetic state of denial. Since you have managed to bulk up yourself, the chances are the same thing has happened to the rest of the family. Because remember, the woman has the control of the family. Are you a good role model? Are you helping everyone live a good lifestyle? Or are you making them over weight just like you are? So what needs to be done?
There is no easy fix to what is said about you. You have created a lifestyle that has enveloped your entire family. If your husband has developed a workout program and a healthy diet and you haven't, he is looking at you as a fat cow. He may not say it, but he is. Plus, this is when men start noticing other women that do take care of themselves. Believe it or not, I am on your side. So here is the plan. Again, first realize that the focal point and the captain of the ship in the family is YOU. Why is it so hard for women to realize that?
First and most important, sit down and make a list what it is you are going to do that will change your lifestyle. That's right, you are going to make a serious change on how you view the way you are living and taking care of yourself. It is the ripple effect, many times, how you go so goes everyone else. There is no quick fix to making a lifestyle change. It requires effort, discipline, and support from everyone involved. After giving thought to the changes being made, and where you want to end up, it is time to put it down on paper.
Initially after a few days there will be a tendency to quite because it is too hard to do. Expect to have those feelings; support is a mandatory element to have. Your husband, boyfriend, girlfriends, family members are your support group to start with. Keep in mind what you are going to do. Clip pictures out of magazines of what you want to look like.Pick-out some new clothes that you want. Visualize what you are going to look like in a few short months. Be willing and make sure you look at your goals everyday to stay on track. Work you butt off for 5 days, then give yourself a treat after accomplishing your goal.
There are 100's of programs available to lose weight. And probably most of them will work. But here is the bottom line, no matter if you chose the South Beach Diet, P90X, or team up with Suzanne Summers or what ever, it will make no difference if you have not made the decision to make a difference in your life. If you have made that decision, then do the first fundamental process and make a list of long-term goals that you want to carry out. Share them with your family and others that will help keep you on track. Then one day you will look in the mirror and know that the effort has been well worth it and since the fundamental change in your lifestyle, you will never see those chubby cheeks again. Congratulations!
