How many smokers keep smoking because they think they’ll pack on pounds if they gave it up? But what if smoking was actually a factor in weight gain - but one that took place over time? It might be new to you, so I’ll explain…
Your liver is your body’s prime fat burning and detoxification organ. Actually, your liver does over a thousand jobs in the body, but two of its most important ones are daily detoxification and the burning of fat.
It's well known that smoking adds to the body literally hundreds of different toxic chemicals with each cigarette. But, you may not know that with habits that pollute the body to such an extreme, your liver easily becomes overloaded from the constant need to detoxify all of these incoming chemicals.
In addition to being generally overworked, your liver will also eventually become congested with toxins, because if your liver can't render a toxin harmless for you, it'll store it. Your liver does this to keep the incoming chemicals out of your bloodstream - in an effort to keep them from causing immediate harm. It's a short term solution that your liver will do for you, but if it's allowed to happen continually, it'll cause problems.
By smoking, chemical toxins build in your liver - and your entire body. Soon, your liver will become impaired in its ability to do its regular work - including burning fat and daily detoxification. Therefore, smoking has actually become a very efficient way to overload your liver and hamper its ability to burn fat. Unfortunately, though, that’s the opposite of what most people want.
Quitting smoking is an excellent move to dramatically decrease your incoming toxic load. In addition, doing a body cleanse, including a deep liver cleanse, can work wonders in removing much of the toxicity that smokers and ex-smokers carry in their bodies. Because, unfortunately, most accumulated toxicity will stay put until some deep cleansing is done. And there's only so much of a toxic burden that a body can bear before it starts having problems. Weight gain is actually a common symptom of an unhealthy liver! So are health problems in general.
You know that health issues are common, and regularly more serious, in smokers. And all of the unnatural chemicals they add to the body are absolutely a large part of the equation.
But the other part is: By overburdening the liver, these chemicals actually hamper the liver’s ability to detoxify itself - in general. And when the liver can’t detoxify all of the incoming chemicals from other common chemical sources like processed foods, non-organic foods, lotions, cosmetics, and shampoos, you will begin to see health problems - without a doubt.
If you haven't quit smoking yet, cleansing your body can help you eliminate the cravings, and therefore make quitting easy. This works because it’s the chemicals from cigarettes, trapped in your body, which cause cravings. Think back: You didn’t have cravings before you started smoking, did you? No, of course not. The chemicals weren’t there. So, by removing those chemicals from your body, you can effectively and easily eliminate your cravings.
Trust me, dropping the butt and cleaning out your body can be a couple of best things you've ever done. And, by putting your liver in a better position - with more time and energy to burn fat - you just might lose some weight in the process.
