D I E T, Detoxing... for Health
One of the most 'in your face' aspects of going on a detox is adapting to the taste and texture of the new range of foods you will be eating.
Most people turn up their nose completely at the range of 'healthy' foods recommended by their nutritionists.
This is a natural reaction strengthened by the selfish ego and compounded by the taste buds.
There is however a way of approaching this problem by priming the person taking the detox and by teaching them how to adapt their pallet so that they can acquire a taste for the foods more quickly.
The body as we know is a picture of the mind, 'the house' of consciousness and the mouth is the doorway through which we interact with this world.
Those going on detox need to know right up front that the average person's DIET (Death Is Ever a Threat) is influenced by strong peer pressure and advertising - neither of which has their best interests at heart.
This is important to realise, that as strong as the old eating habits are, there must be a willingness to change. Willingness is essential to be able to make the transition.
The price of continued bad eating habits is that deterioration continues and will gain momentum poisoning the system until it manifests as some form of disease.
Therefore the need is to Detox BEFORE this happens, to effectively eliminate conditions suitable for dis-ease to increase..
For most people, flavour rules when it comes to choosing foods.
In a detox D I E T (Doorway [to] Infinite Energy Today) the motive for eating changes and then the transition and re-education of the taste buds is easier.
Taste buds renew themselves every ten days or so - but the memory of foods we love can last a lifetime.
In the detox, your aim is to free yourself from your slavery to flavour and start to exercise your dominion over what you eat using the power of reason.
In normal everyday eating we eat because it is a necessity, so because of this we eat comfort foods that makes this 'necessity' more enjoyable.
With some people, the enjoyment takes over and they become slaves to their appetite. Prolonged slavery to the tongue creates a multitude of different health problems which will differ from individual to individual.
If YOU sincerely desire to overcome your slavery to flavour, it is important to realise that once you start to detox and renew your taste buds, that YOU WILL ENJOY YOUR FOOD MORE THAN YOU CAN PRESENTLY POSSIBLY REALIZE.
This realization is important to bear in mind as you go through the transition.
If you are faced with a complete range of new foods that are unfamiliar, it is like going to a new country. You feel lost, disorientated and uncomfortable.
None of this is necessary with the right guide.
Let this essay highlight for you the process of mastering flavour with reason and acquiring a taste for the new foods.
I am ever amazed at the amount of people who blatantly refuse to even try a food they have convinced themselves they do not like - and often there is an underlying psychological reason for the distaste. This line of reasoning is often subconscious and can persist even after they have had the benefits explained to them.
Such is the binding hold the selfish ego has over many people's lives.
I once heard a story about a young mother going to Gandhi to ask him to ask her children to stop eating sugar. He said to her "come back next week".
The mother dutifully returned the following week (she lived FAR away) and Gandhi said to the children, "please stop eating sugar, it is not so good for you".
The mother was astonished (Gandhi had effectively asked her to travel s hundred kilometers there and back for no apparent reason!). She asked Gandhi why he had asked her to wait a whole week for a simple sentence. He said well, "last week, I was still eating sugar myself".
Gandhi had an open mind receptive to the Divine teaching coming from every avenue of life. What the mother did not realise was that her request to Gandhi for her children was also a request from the Divine TO GANDHI.
Gandhi recognized this and took the next step in the re-generation. Without question or argument, he stopped eating sugar.
The following week, when he spoke to the children, his words had MORE POWER than they ever could have if he was still eating sugar.
Would that others could learn from this lesson - YOU are a master of you pallet, you adapt your taste buds accordingly and you should do so with the motive of passing through the Doorway to Infinite Energy Today.
