So you want to lose weight. That’s good, but are you serious? Are you really motivated to lose weight? If you’re setting out on a ‘diet’ with some fuzzy notion about ‘losing some weight’ and maybe doing some exercise to ‘get rid of some fat’, then I suggest you don’t bother. You really will be wasting your time.
To truly succeed you need a proper weight loss goal, and your thinking has to be truly motivational. Weight loss is like anything else – you only get out what you put in.
I liken it to the law of cause and effect. For every effect, there must be a cause. Of course, the cause has to come before the effect. Simple and to the point, it’s the easiest natural law to remember and seemingly the easiest to forget.
Would you expect to boil an egg without first heating the water? Or would you think a seed would grow into a plant without being watered? Can you withdraw money from a bank account without first making a deposit? No! Of course not!
Yet, how many times have you met someone who feels as if they are owed the rewards of success without first being willing to put forth the time and effort it takes to become successful? According to the law of cause and effect, when sufficient investment is made, and the rewards will surely follow. Weight loss works in the same way.
Life educates us and shows us that we have to put wood in a fireplace before we make a fire; we have to make a deposit before we can make a withdrawal; we have to plant seeds, water them, and nurture them before we can harvest the corn. Unfortunately, we all too often forget these things when it comes to achieving things for ourselves.
How often have you heard someone say “I tried losing weight but I just don’t seem to be able to”. I wonder how often what they really mean is “I tried losing weight but I wasn’t prepared to put enough effort in and gave up very easily”.
If you want to achieve a particular result, or effect, in your life – and losing weight would be a good example – you’ve got to start with the cause to create that effect. When you don’t achieve the result, or effect, that you want, the chances are that you have not set the appropriate cause into motion.
If you create and instigate the right cause, you can bet the effect you want will follow.
One of the most important choices you have to make in your life is whether you want to be a cause or an effect? By choosing to be a cause you will make things happen. If you choose to be an effect, you will be the result of whatever happens to you.
If you want to lose weight you have to be the cause and do it with passion. Be the cause of your own weight loss. Get motivated to lose weight.
