Some time ago I posted an article on Water/ Hydration on a site called Qondio, and this is an updated version of that article.
How often are we told how important water is to us, and how often do we tell ourselves that we really should drink more water!! And yet in most instances we simply do not do so. Why, our busy lifestyles, the Western habit of eating and drinking on the run rather than the more social 'sitting and sharing of a meal' and the accompanying fluids that many cultures follow, and often simply because other 'things' taste better than water.!
So what does water really TASTE like?, in most instances I would say we have forgotten the taste of clean water as we are so trained to accept the chemically treated and good additives that most water treatment plants 'add' to their filtration systems, or we have resorted to the convenience of 'plastic bottles' and their ensuing plastic overlay taste.
Seriously results show that approximately 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated and this may well apply to a good half of the world’s population as well, especially in the more affluent areas where fizzy soft drinks, sports waters, fruit juices and the ever available and multi flavored coffees are the go. The body may well use a 1/3 or a 1/2 of the available fluids in such drinks to flush the 'product' from the body, dehydrating you even more.
Depending on whether you drink your juice 'unadulterated' by water, your body may actually see it as a food and not a liquid!
It is said that in almost half of the dehydrated population the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger, even a mild case of dehydration will slow down your metabolism as much as 3%. And we wonder why a large percentage of the world has an issue with weight!
In a Washington University study the simple drinking of one glass of water shut down the hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied.
A lack of water is the number one trigger of daytime fatigue, just by adding some water to YOUR day could have a significant improvement.
Research has shown that consuming 8 to 10 glasses of water could have a significant effect on reducing or easing back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers of these conditions, adding in a tissue salt such as Magnesium Phosphate, which occurs naturally in the body will often assist dramatically more.
It is interesting to note that a 2% drop in hydration can trigger short term memory, difficulty with basic mathematics, and trouble with focusing on a computer screen or a printed page. What do you and your child drink?
An innovative teacher who is also a colleague and student of mine at a well known Melbourne, Australia boys college has been comparing the effects of consuming plain water, versus water containing 20% Apple and Pear juice with her students, and all of the students have noticed a remarkable difference in their bodies ability to absorb the mixture of the water with 20% Apple and Pear juice added, rather than plain water, and reported requiring less toilet trips than if they drink just plain water.! Less stress on your kidneys, and more available fluids for your cells.
Did you know that drinking water may not only improve your health, it also reduces the risk of a number of cancers:-
Colon cancer by 45%
Breast cancer by 79%
Bladder cancer by 50%
So are you drinking the amount of water you need every day?
Now even though drinking water is highly recommended it may not be sufficiently absorbed into your body to be of very much benefit.
**Remember that the inclusion of 20% Apple and Pear juice into your water available from your supermarket or grocery store shelf can assist not only with your hydration but also with your body’s ability to absorb fluids into your cells.
As a Vibrational Kinesiologist I check the levels of hydration of my clients as a matter of course, and I have recommended the inclusion of Apple and Pear juice to their water for many years due the improvements it makes in their hydration levels. Although 20% appears to be the optimal amount to add even a lesser amount will have beneficial effects, so for those on restricted sugar diets and programs, it is worth starting with a lesser amount of Apple and Pear juice and monitoring your results.
I have found the inclusion of 20% Apple and Pear juice to your water has especially good results with sportspeople including marathon runners, and soccer and tennis players who report less fatigue, less muscle spasms and cramping and better recovery rates. Many 'Sports drinks' contain added salts which eventually dehydrate the body further. More disturbing are the reports circulating of Bromides being added to some energy and fizzy drinks which are readily available for sale.
Some years ago I have collaborated with my husband in creating an energetic detoxification program for removing toxins and heavy metals from the body, and we based this program on specific vibrational sounds and the recommended consumption of water with apple and pear juice added as a medium to ‘flush’ the released toxins from the body. It is interesting to note that as the body ‘detoxed’ the level of apple and pear juice that was required to be added to the water decreased, in some instances to less than 5%.
