Do you want to know the secret to healthy weight loss?
We’ll let you in on one little secret—do not rely on a fad diet or a gimmick. They promise extreme results in little time, but they don’t work.
Healthy weight-loss is a lifelong commitment, but it’s easy to get into the swing of things and it can be fun if you give it a chance.
Let’s get serious
Before we can tell you what to do for healthy weight loss, you must make the commitment. It’s going to be hard and some days you’re not going to want to do it, but you’ve just got to power through and focus on the results. Before you do anything, get in the right frame of mind. Get rid of all the junk food in your pantry. Commit to buying healthy ingredients. Select healthy recipes and cook for healthy weight loss at home.
And make sure you don’t skip your exercise.
Generally, if you burn 500 more calories than you eat every day for a week, you should lose about 1-2 pounds.
Eating for healthy weight loss
At bistroMD, we don’t believe in dieting because we believe in health. With over 20 years of experience in her field, bariatric physician, Caroline Cederquist, M.D., works with our team of Registered Dieticians to ensure that the nutritional requirements for healthy weight loss are being met in each and every entrée.
We’re based on real science and the unique knowledge that food is medicine and every bite you take from our program follows this proven approach for healthy and long term weight loss. Our program provides 1,100-1,400 calories daily with 40-50% total caloric intake from lean, adequate protein, 20-25% of calories from healthy fats, and 30-35% from complex carbohydrates.
And the best part is that with us, you don’t have to sacrifice taste for nutrition because with over 200 delicious recipes, you don’t have to sacrifice your love of food while you satisfy your body’s need to eat healthier.
Our programs
If you’re interested in healthy weight loss, give us a try. It just takes several weeks to see results and the only thing you have to lose is the weight. We offer two programs, a men or a woman’s program. You get the option to receive five-or-seven-days’ worth of healthy entrees and the two programs range from $130-$160. Tasty snacks are also an additional option too. One snack costs $1.50, but the number of snacks you receive per day is based on your gender. Women receive two snacks a day and men receive three snacks a day.
Exercise
You know why healthy eating is important so let’s talk about exercise.
Exercise is a big deal.
It’s a good idea to plan on doing a lot of cardio and strength training. Cardio burns the most calories, but it’s important to pace yourself—especially if you’re just starting out.
One way to gradually increase the intensity is to do it in intervals. Try brief bursts of high-intensity, followed by a mellower pace. Repeat that pattern throughout your workout.
Just remember that your weight loss journey isn’t going to be easy. It’s going to take a lot of hard work, sweat and determination; but, you’ll get there if you eat healthy and exercise on a regular basis. Don’t get caught up in the struggle—just focus on your goals.
