Food craving is something that a lot of people have to suffer, the craving are mostly only for a particular food or only for a certain type of food not just any food. Food with high sugar and carbohydrate is usually what most people hunger for, for example food that made using chocolate and junk food such as potato chips. Food such as chocolate and potato chips will not quench your hunger, this what cause lots of people get fat, you just cannot get enough of these food.
The lack of will power and self control is what most people think as the culprit of food craving. That is not completely true, there are biological reasons why we crave for food and to overcome it we need to know and understand these reasons.
Why Many People Crave Food
One of the reason of food craving is related to your body condition, when your blood sugar are getting low (that cause you to feel exhausted) your body give signals to your brain to boost the sugar level of your blood. And this is what cause you to crave food that contains sugar and carbohydrates. Another reason food craving occur is because of serotonin, serotonin is the hormone that make us feels happy, when your body getting low of blood sugar and serotonin, this will make you crave for sweet food in order to increase your blood sugar. But these food will only give you a small amount of serotonin and when it runs out, the cravings will start again.
The other reason could be Adrenal Fatigue, if you feel exhausted for no reason that means you suffer from adrenal fatigue, the lack of rest could be the cause of adrenal fatigue. This is another reason why food craving happens and the craving could get worse to alcohol craving.
Beating Food Craving
One way to overcome food craving is by eating healthy food, the outcome would be a lot better if you add nutritional supplement and also do some training. Food craving can be overcomed, it won't happen overnight and it possibly will take some time, but it is achievable.
One useful tips, anytime you feel wanting a specific food, drink a lot of water, water is great for suppressing hunger.
Other than drinking water, insted of filling your fridge with sugary food such as chocolate and the like, fill your fridge with fruits so if you want to eat some snack, your only choice for snack is fruits which will give you more healthier gain.
