We see it all over social media. Transformation Tuesday's. Before and afters. Fat shaming and fit shaming. The bottom line is. We see that people are doing it. Changing their bodies and looking amazing and others want that. They want to get it. Lose weight. It looks so easy. A simple before and after picture. They had a shake and went to the gym and bam! They're posting half naked selfies on Facebook. The truth of the matter is. Its not that easy.
For starters. It is not easy to even get started for so many. Admitting there is a problem is always the first and hardest step. No matter how you got there. To that point where you want change. It means getting out of your comfort zone. That is not easy. Because it's comfortable. Think of it like that morning you just don't want to get out of bed. You know there's things you have to do but the bed is just perfect, you found that awesome spot on the pillow. It's all just, comfortable.
What we have found with so many of our clients over the years isn't the trouble with getting started. They got started. It's falling back. Once you've started seeing results and seeing that the hard work, the clean eating, everything just paying off. That's when the real work comes in. This is when so many see this isn't a short trip, it's a long haul. They may not have realized that all the weight they had to lose really takes more time to get off then they thought. So they climb back into that cozy comfy bed and try and get that wrapped in comfort feeling.
Changes don't happen in comfort zones. When we get close to that feeling of falling back we have to remember that we've been there already. We have to find a new comfort zone. Some things we've done and suggest to our clients. When results are happening and you see the changes, start making other changes. Go out and buy new clothes that suit you more then the old comfies reorganize, repaint, redecorate your bedroom. Change where you shop for food.
The routine is changing not just for your body but in your mind. The routine is also changing for those around you. The usual things you used to do may not be comfortable for others. You'd be amazed. This is not to say that people aren't happy for you and your achievements. It's because you've left what's comfortable. It's why it's so easy to fall back into comfortable. It's why we also see some people get into other activities full force. We may even say they've gone so extreme. They have. But remember, they're going extreme because it's what they know. Being sedentary and overweight is also, extreme.
Bottom line. Make change. Be change. Don't be comfortable. Bed disruptive.
